2-Day Yala National Park Trip from Colombo Itinerary:

Day 1:

• 6:00 AM: Arrive at Colombo International Airport, where you’ll be greeted and transferred to your private vehicle for the day’s journey.
• 9:00 AM: Your first stop will be the Ratnapura Gemstone Mine. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore one of Sri Lanka’s most famous mining regions. • 2:00 PM: After lunch, head to the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, an incredible conservation center dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned elephants. Here, you’ll get a closer look at these gentle giants and learn about the efforts being made to protect them in the wild.
• 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM: Next, embark on an exhilarating 3-hour safari at Udawalawe National Park. As you explore the park with a knowledgeable guide, you’ll be immersed in the park’s natural beauty and biodiversity.

Day 2:

• 5:30 AM: The next day, enjoy an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Tissamaharama. The adventure continues with a trip to Yala National Park.
• 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM: Get ready for an early morning safari in Yala National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most famous parks. Yala is known for its high density of leopards, and your safari is likely to take you through a landscape of forests, lagoons, and grasslands, home to a wide variety of wildlife such as elephants, wild boar, monkeys, and numerous bird species.
• 9:30 AM: After the thrilling safari, return to your hotel in Tissamaharama to freshen up and relax.
• 4:00 PM: In the afternoon, you will check out of the hotel and embark on the return journey to Colombo. Depending on traffic, you should arrive by evening, concluding your exciting two-day tour of Sri Lanka’s nature and wildlife.
