Detailed overview
Your hands-on cooking experience is offered in the homely environment of a Rajasthani household with Dr Smita Kulshreshtha, who teaches food and nutrition and takes cookery practicals for graduate college girls and has PhD in Food and Nutrition. She has appeared in the book Food Guide to India by Penguin publishers and in Twist of taste programme on Fox life TV channel with Master chef Vikas Khanna.
We use specially procured farm-fresh seasonal vegetables and freshly ground spices to add a special flavour to food. Cooking is done on low heat to preserve nutrients from getting denaturated. Our cooking lessons are directed towards healthy life, following the principles of Ayurveda.
Itinerary
- You are requested to report to the host's home.
- Meet the host and have an introduction session with the host in the class.
- You will be served masala tea as a welcome drink at the host's house, and the cooking lesson will begin shortly after that.
- During your cooking lesson, you will get introduced to various types of spices and food recipes, including the tempering and processing of ingredients used.
- In this session, you will learn the making of Indian bread like parantha or chapathi, a curry, steamed rice or Veg Pulav, Veg raita or Bundi raita, and Pappad.
- After the completion of your cooking session, you will be served the food you have prepared with the host and have some relevant conversation over the food table.
- After the delicious meal and a good conversation, you will have the option to ask for tea or coffee as per your choice before saying goodbye.

- We usually make vegetarian recipes, but in the case of 'celiacs' or'vegans', a special request can be made where we will make a gluten-free diet or an animal product-free diet.
- Please carry a valid photo ID proof.
- Children under 5 years old, accompanied by a parent, are allowed to join the class for free.
- Class starts after 6:00 PM, but a time change can be requested. If possible, we will consider it as per the customer's convenience.
- Entry to the class is given only to booked participants.
