About Aranmula
Aranmula is the place in Kerala to come to watch the Onam village boat races. Rainbows of elephants and umbrellas dance down the streets. The festival is usually in early September. Outside of festival time, this is a small town with one or two temples and one or two local elephants. The paddy fields and rivers surrounding the town are picturesque and typical of Kerala’s scenery. There is a 200 year old palace Aranmula kottaram and place is famous for its metal mirrors.
