About Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary
The sanctuary is a national park. Formerly known as Baker’s estate, the park is set on an island in Vembanad Lake. Waterfowl, cuckoo, owl, and even Brahminy Kite can be spotted here. Amateurs and professional ornithologists alike are drawn to the sanctuary. Even if you don’t recognize any birds, the natural scenery will have you twittering with delight.
