About Dakshineswar Kali Temple

Dakshineswar Kali Temple is situated on the banks of Hooghly or Ganges River in northern part of Kolkata (Calcutta) city. The temple belongs to 19th century and the complex has one main Kali temple and 12 smaller temples dedicated to other Hindi deities. Just next to this temple is the temple of Radha-Gobinda, which is a famous temple of Lord Krishna and Radha.

The temple gets large number of visitors on Sundays, it’s advisable to visit in early mornings to avoid rush and heat. This temple is would equally interests both, a devout Hindu or just a traveler visiting the city.
