About Nehru Zoological Park

Established in 1959, Nehru Zoological Park is much sought after tourists' spot in Hyderabad. The zoo is adjacent to Mir Alam Tank. Most of the animals found here are endemic. The list includes Asiatic Lion, Bear, Indian Python, Bengal Tiger, Indian Rhino, and Cobra etc. The zoo is equipped with nocturnal house which makes the nocturnal animals like fruit bats, barn owls, fishing owls, etc. to remain active in day time so that the visitors can watch them. There are multiple safari trips which you can take. There are separate sections for butterflies, tortoise, dino park etc. The Mir Alam tank lures an enormous number of migratory birds. Bird watchers will surely have a good time here.
