Cubbon Park is a vast expanse of greenery right in the heart of Bangalore city’s administrative area, this Garden gets Bengaluru the name ‘Garden City’. The park was once called as Meade’s park and then changed to Cubbon Park after the longest serving commissioner of that time Sir Mark Cubbon. It was later renamed as Chamarajendra Park after the King Chamaraja Wodeyar under whose period the park was totally established.

This park is a wonderful collage of thick forest patches amidst lush lawns and rock sculptures. It wouldn’t be wrong to call 300 acres of greenery of Cubbon Park and Lalbagh Garden as the lungs of Bangalore. Trees planted in the park include Gulmohar and Silver oaks. Comfortably motor able roads snake through the park along with lanes of walkers’ path. The Cubbon Park roads remain closed to vehicles on Sundays for whole day. Also on Sundays a dog social is organized in one of the areas of the park.
