Outside the Monastery there is a small market with shops, cafes and resturants run by exiled Tibetans. You can have an authentic Tibetan food there.

Besides the main monastery there are a few smaller ones like Sera Lachi Monastery and Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. You can visit them too if you want.

Little far from here is Dubare Elephant Camp, where one can go to see Elephants from close quarters. Possibly feed them as well.
