Maranakatte is 16 km away from Kollur and is famous for its Brahmalingeshwara Temple. Legend goes that Goddess Mookambika performed the Marana Hamam after killing Mookasura. The temple houses the idols of Vata Yaksi and Malayali Yaksi as dwarpalaks. The famous chariot festival attracts many to the doorsteps of this temple.
